“My God, my God why have You forsaken me?” These are the words of Jesus while He was hanging on the cross for you and me. For a brief moment, while He hung there in excruciating agony, He felt the absence of the presence of His Heavenly Father for the first time in His 33 years on earth. Why? Because the Father had taken all of the sin of the human race, and all the sicknesses and diseases known to mankind and put them on His only Son so that every person born into the world would have the opportunity to be forgiven of their sins and healed of any sickness or disease! The Father, for a brief moment, turned His face away from His dying Son, because He could not look at sin upon His Son! (See Psalm 22 & Isaiah Chapter 53)! Have you ever felt the way Jesus felt, forsaken by God? That He has forgotten all about you? Just about everyone has at one time or another in their lives! But, always remember, God does not forsake or abandon His children at any time! He never leaves us or forsakes us! We may not always “feel” His presence, but He is always there! We cannot base our relationship with God on feelings! We live by faith in God and not by how we feel! Don’t try to feel God! Just simply trust that He is always with you and with you right now…
